Job Profiles in Datapeople Anywhere

Datapeople Anywhere is the Chrome browser extension that lets you search, preview, create, and import job profile content without leaving your HRIS. It works alongside the JobNav web app: the extension is for quick access and HRIS import; deeper editing, approvals, and compliance workflows happen in the full editor or on the JobNav website.

NOTE: The extension is still branded Datapeople Anywhere in the Chrome Web Store and in-product UI. JobNav is the name of the job profiles platform. You may see both names for a period of time.

For installation steps, see How to Install Datapeople Anywhere.

Getting started

1. Install and sign in

  1. Install Datapeople Anywhere from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Sign in with your organization credentials.
  3. Open the extension from the Chrome toolbar to load the side panel.

Your admin can send an install invite from Settings → Team.

2. Switch to Job Profile view

If your organization uses both job posts and job profiles, switch between them using the Job Post / Job Profile toggle at the top of Search, Write, and Settings.

If your organization uses JobNav only, the side panel defaults to job profiles.

You can also set your default view under Settings → Default View.

Search and preview profiles

  1. Open the side panel and go to Search.
  2. Make sure Job Profile is selected (if the toggle appears).
  3. Use the status filter to narrow results:
    • All
    • Draft: profiles not yet published to your HRIS
    • Active: HRIS-linked profiles currently active
    • Inactive: HRIS-linked profiles no longer active
  4. Use smart filters for job level, job family, job family group, location, and exempt status.
  5. Click a profile to open its detail view.

The detail view shows the profile title, job code, level, location, FLSA status, and all profile fields in order. Use Copy on any field, or Copy all fields to copy the full profile as formatted HTML.

Create a new draft profile

  1. Go to the Write tab.
  2. Make sure Job Profile is selected.
  3. Enter a Job Profile Title (required).
  4. Optionally add a job code and location.
  5. Select a Template (defaults to your organization's first published template).
  6. Click Create a Draft Profile.

The profile editor opens in a popup window. Finish your edits there, then close the window to return to the side panel.

For more on editing, see the Creating and Editing Job Profiles article.

Import a profile into your HRIS

Import is available when you are on a supported HRIS job profile page in Workday or ADP Workforce Now. This fills HRIS fields with content from JobNav. It is a one-way import (JobNav → HRIS), not a live two-way sync.

Workday

  1. Open a supported Workday job profile create or edit page.
  2. Open Datapeople Anywhere.
  3. Go to Search → select a profile → open the detail view.
  4. Click Import profile.

Workday fields that can be filled include:

  • Job Profile Title
  • Job Profile Summary
  • Job Description
  • Additional Job Description

Which fields appear depends on your organization's Job Profile Settings and which fields are visible in Workday.

For supported Workday pages, see Using the Datapeople Chrome Extension with Workday.

Edit or view a profile in the full editor

From the profile detail view, click Edit (draft profiles) or View (HRIS-linked profiles).

The editor opens in a separate popup window. While it is open, the side panel shows a message asking you to complete edits and close the editor before continuing.

From the editor popup you can:

  • Edit draft profile content (Editor and above)
  • View HRIS-linked profiles (all roles with library access)
  • Leave comments on draft profiles
  • Start approval flows from draft profiles
  • Review revision history

HRIS-linked profiles are read-only in the editor. To change active profile content, edit the draft workflow in JobNav and publish through your normal process.

Lite mode and two-way sync

On supported ATS pages, Datapeople Anywhere can run in full ATS mode (with field covers and autofill) or Lite mode (copy-paste only, no sync).

For job profiles, the main ATS workflow is import: JobNav content is filled into your HRIS form. Job profiles do not use Score on the Fly or the Current job tab the way job posts do.

To disable two-way sync for your current browser session:

  1. Open the side panel on a supported ATS page.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Click Disable two-way sync for this session.

See What is Lite Mode? for more detail.
