๐Ÿ’ธ Require your company's salary disclosure policy in job posts

November 10, 2022

Hey Admins ๐Ÿ‘‹ Does your company have a policy to voluntarily disclose salary in job posts where you're not required to by law?

If so, major kudos! ๐Ÿ‘

We know it can be hard to enforce policies, so, we've added a new Style Guide option that (should you choose to enable it) will alert users to add salary information for job posts in locations you've specified.

Turn 'On' salary disclosure for any or all of the following locations:

  • US  remote or non-remote job postings
  • Non-US remote or non-remote job postings

Admins, head to Settings >Style Guide > Salary Disclosure to delight your applicants with more salary transparency ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ“ข CA and WA pay transparency guidance

November 10, 2022

Posting jobs in the US states of California or Washington?

You'll now receive guidance that helps you comply with these locations' upcoming (January 2023) pay transparency requirements.

If the location of your job post is listed as California or Washinton, you'll notice:

  • Sidebar guidance to add compensation if it's not detected in your post
  • Green Highlights when you do detail compensation

While the California Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act and the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act don't go into effect until January 2023, we believe it's never too early to start including salary information in your job ad. To learn more about pay transparency, read more here โฏ

๐Ÿ—ฝ New York City Salary Transparency is in Effect! ๐Ÿ’ฐ

November 02, 2022

It's official, officially.

As of November 1st, the New York City pay transparency law is in effect. This means that employers are now required to list the salary range in job descriptions for New York City jobs.

Luckily, you write your jobs in Datapeople and we make complying with this law easy-peasy. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  • If we don't detect compensation in your post, our sidebar guidance will alert you to add compensation details
  • When you do detail compensation, we'll highlight it in green ๐Ÿ‘

We know that including salary information in your job ad can reduce bias and unequal treatment in the hiring process while helping to attract qualified candidates. That's why this guidance has been live in Datapeople since January 2022 and might seem familiar.

As more laws go into effect, we will, of course, continue to update our platform. For more information on what to disclose when, where, and why, read more here โฏ

๐Ÿ‘€ Copy (and paste) the competition

June 16, 2022

If you love our new side-by-side editor when switching Templates, you're in luck. Similar Jobs just got the side-by-side treatment!

If you get good ideas from Similar Jobs (๐Ÿ™‹), you can now pull that text right into your post. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, right?

(Haven't used Apply Template recently? Read our support article on transferring content between two documents with the new side-by-side view.)

Remember, listings that appear in Similar Jobs have not necessarily been optimized by Datapeople. โš ๏ธ

So once you copy-and-paste that inspired list of requirements or "About the role" blurb into your post, review your updated Job Score and follow the guidance to get it up to 85+!

๐Ÿ”Ž Your new job repository

June 06, 2022

Need job post inspiration โ€“ or better yet, a post you can simply reuse?

If you have an ATS-integrated account, Datapeople now serves as your complete company job repository. ๐ŸŽ‰

Access any published or closed job post across your organization! (But not pipeline data โ€“ that's still reserved for the appropriate hiring team.)

Two ways to quickly find a post to repurpose:

  1. Adjust your Document Library filters (make sure to turn off "My Jobs")
  2. Search the Library by title or req ID

Your "Published" and "Closed Posts" pages still default to your own jobs so you can instantly get the insights you need most. After all, this is about making less work for you. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

So go on: stop reinventing the wheel and start duplicating or pulling from existing posts.

๐Ÿ’พ Improvement to Apply Template

May 09, 2022

Now when you apply a Template to an existing job draft, you can transfer content to the new post. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Need to do away with the format of your job but keep some of the copy?

When you select "Apply Template," you'll be dropped into our new side-by-side editor.

To save your current content:

  • Hover over any block in your original post
  • Click the copy icon that appears
  • Paste the text into a block in your new post

Hit "Apply" when you're done and just like that: what's old is new again. No rewriting necessary!

๐Ÿšจ Incomplete job alert

April 27, 2022

Templates with placeholders and locked standard content help you write good job posts in minutes.

But job posts with placeholders or essential details missing? Not helpful for candidates. ๐Ÿซค

That's why we've made it much harder to accidentally publish an incomplete job. Your Job Score will automatically be disabled if your post:

๐Ÿšฉ Is missing both Qualifications + Responsibilities ๐Ÿšฉ Includes 4+ placeholders

Once you add in sufficient content about your specific role, your score will be calculated. ๐ŸŽ‰

If your job post still includes some placeholders or doesn't include critical content, don't fret about overlooking it โ€“ your Job Score and sidebar guidance will reflect it.

Aim for the target score of 85+ and you can feel confident you're publishing a clear, complete job!

๐ŸŒฒIntroducing evergreens

April 22, 2022

Attention, workers: your Workday evergreen requisitions are now available in Datapeople!

With this release, you can treat evergreen jobs just like standard ones โ€“ optimize them using our guidance, sync your edits back to Workday, and analyze performance with Recruiting Analytics. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Since evergreen jobs stay up longer and touch more candidates than standard jobs, it's extra important that they're clear and inclusive.

To easily check on your evergreens, filter the jobs in your Document Library by "Evergreen Status" or just look for this icon: โˆž.

Can't find your evergreen reqs? Your Datapeople admin may not have yet enabled them. Chat with us here in the app or reach out to your Customer Success Manager for support!

๐ŸŽ Intro and conclusion included

April 22, 2022

If your company uses Greenhouse's Standardized Post Descriptions โ€“ a templated intro, conclusion, or both โ€“ you'll now notice these paragraphs in the job post editor.

We've started pulling in your Standardized Post Descriptions so you know precisely what your published job will say, top to bottom. โ†•๏ธ

With your Greenhouse introduction and conclusion displayed, how your job post appears in Datapeople is exactly how it'll appear to candidates once live. So if it's...

๐Ÿšฉ Too long ๐Ÿšฉ Too short ๐Ÿšฉ Missing critical content like benefits

...now's the time to change it!

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿง‘ (Very) Similar Jobs

March 18, 2022

Are your coworkers hiring for openings that are just like yours?

Find out with our update to Similar Jobs, which now includes matching posts from your own organization in addition to those from others.

If your company has live or closed jobs similar to the one youโ€™re writing based on its requirements, qualifications, and location, up to three will display in the Similar Jobs list.

Discover how your colleagues are marketing like roles to candidates โ€“ and go ahead, copy and paste any content you'd like to reuse. Teamwork! ๐Ÿ™

Remember, external listings that appear in Similar Jobs have not necessarily been optimized by Datapeople, but you can also click through and read these posts to get ideas. ๐Ÿ’ก

Hover over "Similar Jobs" in the top navigation bar to get started!
