How does Datapeople calculate pass-through rates?

At Datapeople, we represent pass-through rates in two ways:

  • The overall pass-through rate is the percentage of all candidates (who applied in the selected date range) who make it through the whole process and are ultimately hired.
  • Stage-by-stage pass-through rates look at the advancement of those candidates from one stage to the next.

Overall Pass-Through Rate

Your Overall pass-through rate is the percentage of candidates who applied that were eventually hired.

In reverse, but equally as important, your pass-through rate tells you how many candidates had to apply in order for you to make one hire, which is utilized in the How many candidates do I need to get to x hires? graph.

The overall pass-through rate is calculated by dividing the total number of hires by the number of applicants.

Stage Pass-Through Rate

Stage-by-stage pass-through rates tell you what percent of candidates from the previous stage entered into a given stage. Stage-by-stage pass-through rates are calculated by dividing the number of candidates who have progressed to the given stage by the number of candidates in the previous stage.

For example, the Assessment Pass-Through Rate would be the percentage of candidates from the Screening stage that made it through to the Assessment stage.

Datapeople displays pass-through rates between stages in most data tables at the bottom of reports.
