Why do you filter by the date of a single activity in Insights reports rather than all activities?

Our reports focus on activity over time rather than the current state of your recruiting pipeline. We use a cohort-based approach to look at how candidates who apply (or are hired) within a particular timeframe progress through the process. This allows for clearer pass-through rate estimations, and candidates are only counted once based on when they applied (or received an offer, in the case of the Hiring Report).

Depending on your ATS, a similar report could show for all candidates who had any activity in a given time frame, which may cause your metrics to look a bit different in outside reports.

When looking at statistics around the today's date, your numbers will not be representative. Metrics will change as you resolve the status of active applicants in the given time frame (i.e. when they move from Active to either Hired / Rejected / Withdrawn).

We suggest two solutions:

  1. Expand the time span for the analysis (i.e. using more historic data).
  2. Wait until more candidates are resolved to get a better understanding of the pipeline.
