Explore Datapeople's Inbound Source Report

The Inbound Report, part of Datapeople's Premium Source Insights, is your source of truth for tracking which sources your inbound applicants and hires come from.

Datapeople's Inbound Source Report

Datapeople's Inbound Report contains specific information about where your inbound applicants (candidates who actively sought out your company) and hires are coming from, helping you determine which inbound sources are most effective for your team. It can answer questions like:

  • Which sources do most inbound applicants come from?
  • Which of these categories lead to the most inbound hires?
  • Which paid job boards result in the most value?
  • Do niche job board attract more qualified applicants?

You can view this information in the bar graphs at the top of the report and find a detailed breakdown of inbound sources in the table at the bottom.

You can toggle the Application and Hire metrics and table to view a breakdown by Paid vs Free sources or General vs Niche job sites.

Analyzing Application to Hire Pipeline

Understanding where the majority of your applicants come from can be useful information when determining where to spend your time or money; however, seeing which sources of applicants lead to hires can help you discover which sources are most valuable. It is expected that source ratios for applicants and hires would generally align: for example, if most of your applicants come from LinkedIn, you would expect most of your hires to come from LinkedIn as well. However, if your hires are mostly coming from another source, you may consider whether that other source is providing higher-quality candidates, or if there are certain biases that tip the scales in favor of that source.

Driving Inbound Recruiting

Inbound sourcing is the most equitable form of recruiting and has been shown to be more efficient than outbound sourcing. You can use this report to ensure your candidate pool is drawing enough inbound traffic at the top of the funnel.

Outbound recruiting limits the candidate pool and allows implicit biases to creep into the hiring process, especially when outbound candidates and referrals are hired at a higher rate than inbound candidates.

ROI on Paid Sources

This report can also be used to dive deeper into specific inbound sources and their relative performance to help make decisions on where your resources are best allocated.

Paid and Sponsored Inbound sources should, in theory, provide a greater number and quality of candidates compared to Free sources, in order for them to be valuable costs.
