Datapeople Filters
Some filters are created by Datapeople, based on our analysis of your jobs. These filters help you compare your jobs based on similarities like job type or experience level at a high level that may not be easily available in your ATS filters.
Datapeople filters include:
- Seniority (Junior, Mid-Level, Senior, etc.)
- Job Family (High-level job types, such as Tech, Sales, Go to Market, General and Administative, etc.)
- Education (Bachelors, Masters, PhD, etc.)
- Job Site (On-site, Hybrid, Remote)
- Employment Type (Full-Time, Part-Time, Internship, etc.)
- Eligibility (Residential Requirements re: immigration)
Seniority Filter
What is the seniority filter?
The seniority filter allows you to filter jobs based on the role’s seniority level. It allows you to easily look at jobs that have a certain seniority - like junior, mid-level, or senior.
How does Datapeople define seniority levels?
Datapeople categorizes seniority into three broad levels: junior, mid-level, and senior. These broader levels can include more specific seniority levels. An internship or entry-level role would be categorized as junior. VP and higher positions fall under the senior level. Our system uses information from the title and job description to infer a role’s seniority level. Generally, junior roles require about 1-3 years of experience, mid-level roles require anywhere from 4-7 years of experience, and senior roles usually require 8 or more years of experience. Each job and industry is unique, and years of experience are just one factor in helping to determine seniority.
Do all jobs receive a seniority tag?
All jobs are assigned a Seniority tag. If the job does not provide enough information, it will be assigned the undefined seniority tag.
Can jobs receive multiple seniority tags?
Some jobs can have more than one Seniority tag assigned. If your job is tagged junior, it could also have any of the other tags that fall under the junior umbrella, like internship or entry-level. If your job is not junior, then it will only have one Seniority tag assigned - either mid-level, senior, or undefined seniority.
Job Family Filter
A Job Family groups jobs together that fulfill a similar function. This high-level categorization of jobs gives you insights into closely related roles. Job Family filters originate from Datapeople’s proprietary taxonomy which identifies role types and categorizes jobs into a Job Family.
Datapeople’s Job Family filters include the following role types:
- General and Administration
- Go to Market
- Health and Life Sciences
- Media and Design
- Production and Construction
- Professional Services
- Retail and Hospitality
- Tech
What does the Job Family Filter do?
Datapeople’s Job Family filters allows you to filter your jobs by role type. Using the Job Family filter allows you filter by all Tech roles, for example, to see active job postings in your Job Library or the performance of job postings on Datapeople Insights. The Job Family filter can be combined with additional Datapeople and ATS filters for richer insights.
Can a job receive multiple Job Family tags?
It’s possible for a job to cross more than one Job Family but unlikely. Some jobs may include responsibilities that overlap heavily across more than one role type, resulting in that role being classified under more than one Job Family.
Can a job receive no Job Family tags?
While most job descriptions are assigned a Job Family tag, it’s possible to create a job that does not receive a Job Family tag. There may be some job descriptions that Datapeople's proprietary taxonomy is unable to categorize. If a job does not clearly align with a certain role type due to an unclear job title or vague requirements, it may not receive a Job Family. At Datapeople, we seek to provide customers with guidance to improve and clarify their job descriptions. Our guidance also helps to ensure that customers’ jobs are categorized in the correct Job Family.
