Datapeople Anywhere FAQs
Why don't I see the edit and purple Datapeople buttons in my ATS?
With the new Datapeople Anywhere, the side panel serves as your primary workspace. The edit button has moved to the side panel, which now displays the Write and Search tabs for drafting a new post and importing any existing job.
Why can't I see the import button on the job I clicked?
You can import a job only when you are on a job post page in your ATS. If you are on a page that we don’t recognize as a job post page, you will not see the Import button. However, you can still edit the job, access the comments, and copy the content from all the fields.
If the widget appears, does it mean that the extension imports data?
No. The only times that Datapeople Anywhere ingests data from the page is on the ATS job post page. You will see this as a purple cover over the fields which we import, score and then fill with your updated content. On these pages, the widget will typically show the score of the job post.
When you are on a page which we don’t recognize to be a job post page, you will not see purple covers and the widget will have the default view. On these pages, we don’t import, score or fill data because we don’t recognize them as having content that Datapeople cares about.
The widget is there as a reminder for common customer workflows. Some of these include:
- Including draft job posts for approval workflow (i.e. ticketing systems)
- Copying the job post into the internal job description content for a role into your HRIS (particularly when your ATS is different to your HRIS).
Why doesn’t the widget appear on all of my sites?
We prioritized configuring the widget on frequently requested sites for this initial release.
Please complete this form to suggest additional systems for widget inclusion; we'll be happy to add more and we’ll be in contact when we have enabled it!
Why can't I see the purple covers on my ATS page?
To initialize, Datapeople Anywhere requires specific content elements to be present on specific ATS pages. If any of the required elements cannot be found on the page, it treats the absence as an unknown configuration and limits certain actions. This means that the purple covers over the fields you would normally edit are no longer visible. Additionally, you do not see the score on the widget. However, you can still use the Write and Search tabs to draft a new job and access your Repository.
Can I prevent the widget from appearing on certain sites?
Unfortunately, this is not something you can configure at the moment.
How do I know if my version of Datapeople Anywhere is up to date?
- Navigate to your extensions page (for Chrome this is chrome://extensions/ )
- Toggle on Developer mode which will include the version number after Datapeople Anywhere.

- If it has a version starting with 4, it is updated. If it has a version starting with 2, then it is not.
