Job Family Filters

What is a Job Family?

A Job Family groups jobs together that fulfill a similar function. This high-level categorization of jobs gives you insights into closely related roles. Job Family filters originate from Datapeople’s proprietary taxonomy which identifies role types and categorizes jobs into a Job Family

Datapeople’s Job Family filters include the following role types:

  • General and Administration
  • Go to Market
  • Health and Life Sciences
  • Media and Design
  • Production and Construction
  • Professional Services
  • Retail and Hospitality
  • Tech

What does the Job Family Filter do?

Datapeople’s Job Family filters allows you to filter your jobs by role type. Using the Job Family filter allows you filter by all Tech roles, for example, to see active job postings in your Job Library or the performance of job postings on Datapeople Insights. The Job Family filter can be combined with additional Datapeople and ATS filters for richer insights.

Can a job receive multiple Job Family tags?

It’s possible for a job to cross more than one Job Family but unlikely. Some jobs may include responsibilities that overlap heavily across more than one role type, resulting in that role being classified under more than one Job Family.

Can a job receive no Job Family tags?

While most job descriptions are assigned a Job Family tag, it’s possible to create a job that does not receive a Job Family tag. There may be some job descriptions that Datapeople's proprietary taxonomy is unable to categorize. If a job does not clearly align with a certain role type due to an unclear job title or vague requirements, it may not receive a Job Family. At Datapeople, we seek to provide customers with guidance to improve and clarify their job descriptions. Our guidance also helps to ensure that customers’ jobs are categorized in the correct Job Family
