Why is the Drop-off Report table displaying a warning?

You will see a yellow warning icon at the top right corner of the data table if your number of active candidates outweighs the number of resolved candidates to a point that it would be difficult to extract any meaningful information.

When the proportion of still-active candidates who applied during the selected date range is greater than 30%, Datapeople’s Drop-off Report warns the user that the high active candidate rate may contribute to inaccurate projections of drop-off rate. This is intended to protect users from analyzing data too early in the process, where not enough candidates have progressed (for instance, only looking at candidates that applied in the last week).

We suggest two approaches:

  1. Expand the time span for the analysis (i.e. using more historic data).
  2. Wait until more candidates are resolved to get a better understanding of the pipeline.

If you receive the warning while looking at historical data, it may be an indication that data clean-up is required. Still-active candidates from historical data were likely not resolved correctly. You can use the CSV download to calculate the drop-off rate in these cases.
